In Memory of Ron Hughes
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Ron Hughes, a dedicated and long-serving member of the Pendleton Foundation Trust board. Ron served from 1999 to 2016 as the Pendleton Chamber of Commerce’s appointed representative.
For 18 years, Ron brought energy, wisdom, and a deep love for Pendleton to his work with the Foundation. He played a vital role in guiding grantmaking decisions, using his extensive knowledge of the community to help return uncountable funds into meaningful projects across the city. His legacy is reflected in the many projects and organizations he helped support through his service.
Ron’s commitment to Pendleton extended well beyond Pendleton Foundation Trust. He served on the Pendleton City Council, was active in the Pendleton Chamber of Commerce, and donated countless hours to a wide range of community causes. His presence and leadership were felt far and wide.
Board member Kevin Hale shared, “Ron was a good friend and mentor to many. He had a big impact on the Foundation and he will be deeply missed across our community.”
Ron will be remembered not only for his contributions, but for his friendship and his unwavering belief in the power of community. The Pendleton Foundation Trust extends our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Gloria, and his extended family.
