John “Jiggs” and Maxine Fisk Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established 2004
John “Jiggs” and Maxine Fisk exemplified the lasting impact of planned giving, using their generosity to support the education of future generations and leave a lasting legacy in the Pendleton community. Both were long-time Umatilla County natives and lived in Pendleton for many years as cattle ranchers. Jiggs also had a long-standing involvement with the Pendleton Round-Up, serving as its President from 1976 to 1978. The Fisks were deeply engaged in the community and cared deeply for its citizens.
In his will, Jiggs established the Fisk Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Pendleton Foundation Trust, with the first scholarship awarded in fall 2005. The Scholarship is awarded to a graduating Pendleton High School senior with at least a 3.0 GPA, in recognition of their academic achievements and involvement in activities. This prestigious award, which is not based on financial need, honors Jiggs and Maxine Fisk, who were generous supporters of the Trust and passionate about education. This scholarship awards $3,000 for student’s freshman year, renewable for a second year for a total award of $6,000.
